The Mat-Su Health Foundation (MSHF) provides financial support for well-managed 501(c)(3) organizations offering services and practical solutions to significant health related problems impacting the citizens of the Mat-Su Borough.

The Foundation Board of Directors feels an organization with broad community support, strong financial management and matching project support is likely to be successful in sustaining its basic operations and achieve stated goals. Sustaining the operation’s basic needs through other means of support is a fundamental strength we look for. Read more about our Goals and Objectives.

American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Statewide Campaign Manager

Job Summary:
Manage a statewide public health campaign. Build an advocacy network of community leaders and organizations to promote policy goals. Supervise and coordinate activities of local organizers. Work with statewide coalition to develop and implement community education efforts.

Terms of Employment:
This is a full-time, temporary position for calendar year 2012. There may be opportunity to extend into the 2013 calendar year. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:
-- Prior experience with public policy campaigns and working in a fast-paced campaign environment.
-- Familiarity with the state legislative process and local government entities
-- Strong organizational management & self-directive competencies
-- Supervisory experience preferred

Healthy Impact Grant Awards

The Mat-Su Health Foundation (MSHF) announced its third and fourth quarter Healthy Impact grant awards to qualified nonprofits serving Mat-Su residents. Twelve organizations received a total of $ญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญ1,982,099 for projects that help build opportunities for a healthy life in Mat-Su.

Healthy Impact Grant Program


Healthy Impact Grant Program (over $15,000) In accordance with our Grant Guidelines, the Foundation seeks to fund projects which improve the health and wellness of people living in the Mat-Su Borough through our Healthy Impact grant program.

Mat-Su Health Foundation accepts Healthy Impact grant requests in excess of $15,000 biannually in January and June of each funding year. Please consult the MSHF grant guidelines located on our website for additional information on what Mat-Su Health Foundation does and does not fund. The two cycle periods follow:

Cycle One:
Project Pitch - November 28 to January 6
Full Application - January 16 to February 24


Cycle Two:
Project Pitch - April 23 to June 1
Full Application - June 11 to July 27


All applications must be submitted electronically by 4:00 pm on the day of the aforementioned deadline.

Target Wellness Grant Program


Our Target Wellness Program threshold has increased from $5,000 to $15,000 and we've budgeted $250,000 this year instead of $100,000, a 150% increase in funds available. This program is always open, so if you have an innovative program or a pressing need, please remember MSHF for funding!
