Boys & Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Club of Mat-Su Valley and the Goose Bay School Outreach Site requested $15,685 for staff salaries and benefits, equipment, program supplies, and attendance incentives necessary to implement AK 4 Life for one year. AK 4 Life is a well-rounded health and wellness program for Club members that combines nutrition education and non-competitive sports and recreation activities with an Alaskan twist! With the assistance of the Mat-Su Health Foundation rock climbing, winter survival skills, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, rafting, biking, gardening, and fishing will be among the opportunities offered to Club members in partnership with community partners such as Alaska Job Corps and Alaska National Guard. The target population for AK 4 Life is 150 Mat-Su Club members between the ages of 12 and 18 years, and Goose Bay Club members between the ages of 6 and 11 years most of who come from low income families.

Mat-Su Interfaith Hospitality
The request was to fund the interfaith hospitality network which will provide shelter and meals as well as case management, mentoring, and advocacy to families without housing (approx 42 families/168 individuals per year). We assist families to have a level of stability while working toward self-sufficiency.
