Food Bank of Alaska, December 15, 2006
Dear Vincent,
Thank you for the Mat-Su Health Foundation's gift of $5000.00 to Food Bank of Alaska for operating expenses for the Mat-Su branch. We count on the generosity of organizations like yours to support our work to end hunger in Alaska. Eli Khamarov said in "Lives of the Cognoscenti" that "poverty is like punishment for a crime you didn't commit." During this time of family and festivity, how true that seems! In response, GIFT, a collaborative Anchorage event, provides assistance to low-income individuals and families. Each family receives a holiday food box, and toys for children 14 and younger. Food Bank of Alaska provides 5,000 boxes for the GIFT program, as well as providing food to more than 50 communities across Alaska. Your gift today means that someone will find joy this holiday season. We wish you and those you care about great joy, too. We thank you for your kind thoughts and generous support, and are grateful that you believe, as we do that...no one deserves to be hungry.
Sincerely,
Susannah Morgan,
Excecutive Director
